Position Overview
The WordPress Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites and web applications. They will collaborate with clients, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, responsive, and scalable WordPress solutions. The WordPress Developer will leverage their expertise in WordPress themes, plugins, and customization to create engaging and functional websites that meet client needs and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch or customize existing themes and plugins as needed.
- Collaborate with clients and designers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Build responsive and user-friendly websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Optimize website performance, speed, and security by implementing best practices and performance optimization techniques.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services as required, such as payment gateways, social media, and analytics tools.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure website functionality across various devices and browsers.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for WordPress websites, including updates, backups, and security patches.
- Stay updated on the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.
Must Have
- Proven experience as a WordPress developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing WordPress websites and web applications.
- Proficiency in WordPress theme and plugin development, including custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with PHP and MySQL, and understanding of database management and optimization.
- Knowledge of responsive web design principles and techniques, and familiarity with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to debug and resolve issues quickly.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and techniques for optimizing WordPress websites.
- Familiarity with web performance optimization tools and techniques.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines for web development.
- Experience with other content management systems (CMS) or frameworks such as Drupal or Laravel.
