Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a full-time on-site role. The Senior Accountant will take charge of the Accounts Payable function and Taxation for both Australia and Pakistan. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciling accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will provide essential financial support for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile various subsidiary ledgers, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
  • Must have a working understanding of the accounting cycle as per international accounting standards.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and identify potential risks or discrepancies.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Review and reconcile financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements 
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting

Nice to have

  • Experience in public accounting or with a Big 4 firm.
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and experience with multi-currency accounting.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis techniques.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and implementing best practices in accounting processes. 

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. 
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. 
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Expertise in Accounts Payable and Taxation.
